Jess (or Bexley/Bex), 40-something. They/them pronouns. I'm a former LJer who has abandoned the site (with much wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth) in favor of decentralizing my identity. I keep my fandom life on Tumblr, AO3, and Discord, and my creative/Palatable-for-the-Public life on my dot-com website, Insta, Bluesky, etc. Dreamwidth? I'm just here to vent and maybe meet some cool folks.

Will I tell you what either of those other handles/identities are? Maybe. Not here in the Bio. And certainly not before I get to know you.

I started doing morning pages at the beginning of 2025, and I intend to continue keeping my own personal journal of unfiltered thoughts -- but I also thought it might be nice to have a place to socially shitpost, as it were. These entries are mostly unedited, unfiltered, and only minimally spell checked. You've been warned. They're mostly for me, but posting here sometimes feels better than screaming into the void. Plus... I like people, and I like meeting people. It's the biggest thing I miss about LJ.

Anyway, I'm an instructional assistant/vocational coach by day and an artist/writer by night. I've been married to my wife (Code named "Sour") for almost sixteen years, and have an 11-year-old son (code named "Bear."). We are all neurodivergent, and I talk about my neurodivergence often. Identity wise, I am white, American, able-bodied, fat, queer, and non-binary.

I'm fannish, and I hyperfixate. For the last almost 3 years, it's been Red Dwarf with no sign of slowing (and Psych within the last year, as well, with a smattering of other things, like Taskmaster, British panel shows, Murderbot, etc.).

I may or may not post art. I will likely post about art. We shall see.

While the intent of this journal is not free-for-all public consumption, I nonetheless welcome readers. As I said, I like meeting people.
